Martvili Canyon — a perfect day trip from Kutaisi

Martvili Canyon is one of the most beautiful natural landmarks in western Georgia. The turquoise Abasha river flows between mossy cliffs, and the boat ride feels like a fairy tale. It is only a 45-minute drive from Kutaisi (about 45 km). The road is fully paved — any car will do, even an economy class one. Tips: tickets are sold on site; in summer arrive early in the morning to avoid crowds. Okatse Canyon is just 10 minutes away — you can easily visit both in one day. Bring water and comfortable shoes.
